I’ve been testing the new Pocket Wizard TT1 with Canon camera’s and flashes.  I am using the regular plus IIs for receivers so I don’t have E-ttl or Controltl functionality.  So far I’ve just been working with trying to get them to fire in hyper sycn mode which means firing above 1/250th of a second.  At first it would not trigger my flash once I went over 1/250th of a second but after e-mailing tech support they told me to set the sync speed to 1/640th second and adjust the time delay.  After doing this I was able to get my Canon 40D to fire my 580Ex and AB800s at up to 1/500th of a second which is not bad but the documentation says it should fire up to 1/8000th of a second.  Needless to say the documentation that came with the unit was poor but the tech support person has responded to my questions quickly.  He next suggested turning on the high speed sync function on my flash to get shutter speeds faster than 1/500th second.  I tried this and still the flash will not fire.  If anyone has had any luck getting this to work please post your comments and tips.
